SUSSEX AND THE WORLD MARKET on Hove Lawns
Saturday 24 - Sunday 25 September 2011

We had a glorious day on Brighton seafront for our annual Sussex & The World Market – the second major market event of the September festival featuring the best of Sussex alongside cuisine from across the globe.
As ever, this major Brighton event was free to enter and both locals and visitors enjoyed great food to eat within the festival and take away for later. There were plenty of Sussex beers – something we can be really proud of as a county – alongside Irish fruit ciders from Magners, authentic Indian currys, fresh Japanese sushi (and vegan chicken katsu curry courtesy of Moshi Moshi), meats from Sussex and South Africa, Portuguese delicacies, award-winning wines from both Sussex and France, hearty Creole fayre, Belgium waffles and a whole host more on 70 food stalls.
The Sussex & The World market is a showcase of not only local food but also GOOD world food and over 30,000 people enjoyed the food, drink, live music, community spirit and joie de vivre this weekend. There'll be plenty more international cuisine to taste at our Spring Harvest from 30 March - 8 April – we hope you have an Olympic appetite for 10 more days of the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival when we return in Spring 2012!
