Sam Metcalfe of Sam's of Brighton wins the "Dogs Dinner" trophy at Pup Aid. Judges were Andrea Fox of Juice FM, Shoshana Plail of Child Friendly Brighton Fashion designer Andrew Fionda and 3 canine judges, Louis the Miniature Daschund , Rebus the Scottie and Jackson the Greyhound. Olivia Reid of Terre a Terre and festival director Nick Mosley helped serve up the snacks.
As part of the Pup Aid 2011Dog Show and Music Festival held to raise awareness about puppy farming in Stanmer Park, Brighton on Sunday Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival organised the "Dogs Dinner" competion. Top Brighton restaurants including Sam's of Brighton, the Restaurant at Drakes, Moshi Moshi, Metro Deco, Thornes Foods and Terre a Terre competed to find the doggy snack most favoured by a team of 3 human judges - who included Andrea Fox of Juice FM and Shoshana Plail of Child Friendly Brighton and 3 canine judges, Louis the Miniature Daschund , Rebus the Scottie and Jackson the Greyhound. Olivia Reid of Terre a Terre and festival director Nick Mosley [pictured right] helped serve up the snacks. Despite such delicacies as duck canapes from Drakes, cheesy donut straws from Terre a Terre, Sushi from Moshi Moshi and black pudding stuffed yorkshire pudding from Thornes Foods tempting the judges taste buds, the lamb burgers from Sam's of Brighton, were positively wolfed down and judged unanimous winner by human and canine alike.
