CHAMPAGNE AND SUSSEX SPARKLING WINE FESTIVAL at Hotel du Vin

The World's leading Champagne houses joined international award-winning Sussex Sparklers at our 2nd Champagne & Sussex Sparkling Wine Festival – hosted by the food festival and Hotel du Vin Brighton.

Featuring Ruinart, Veuve Clicquot, Moët & Chandon, Besserat De Bellefon, Lanson, Laurent Perrier and Lombard from the Champagne region alongside superb sparkling wines from around Sussex and Kent including Sedlescombe, Ridgeview, Breaky Bottom, Nyetimber, Courtyard, Blackboys, Bolney Estate, and Hotel du Vin's exclusive Balfour, the afternoon really went with a bang.

Wine lovers met the local makers and ambassadors of the Grand Marques, enjoyed tasters alongside tutored workshops in Hotel du Vin's stunning Laroche Room and atmospheric Wine Cellar, and savoured food from Hotel du Vin's bistro which featured a special Champagne menu or light bites including oysters and seafood platters from Pub du Vin.

This event is a real opportunity for the festival and the sommeliers at Hotel du Vin to showcase how sparkling wines quite literally grown on Brighton & Hove's doorstep are some of the best currently available in the world. Ridgeview has been celebrated by Decanter as the Best Sparkling Wine in the World at the 2010 Decanter Awards, and is now (quite rightly!) the fizz of choice for HM The Queen who served it at both the State Banquet for US President Obama and at the recent Royal Wedding.

The Champagne & Sussex Sparkling Wine Festival will return in the festival's Spring Harvest (30 March - 8 April 2012).
