BRIGHTON MIX OFF WINNER SHAKES HIS WAY TO VICTORY
The finalists of the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival's Mix Off cocktail competition battled it out on Brighton Pier on Thursday evening. Combining skill, flair and finesse – with a little bit of bribery thrown in in the form of free hats and raffles – bartenders from Seattle, Browns, Caprichos and Above Audio mixed up a storm before an audience of 150 cocktail aficionados with liquors from Stolichnaya, Grand Marnier, Havana Club and Monkey Shoulder.
By public vote, the winner of the 2011 trophy designed by artist Jamie McCartney, was Dan Warren from Browns on Duke Street, Brighton who won with his Monkey Shoulder whisky creations. His trophy was presented to him by event organisers Miles and Zoe Cunliffe from Mixology Group, and food festival chair Roger Marlowe.
You can see Dan shake his stuff from 5pm on Saturday 10 September on the Live Food Show stage in Royal Pavilion Gardens.
