FESTIVAL COMMITTEE & DIRECTORS
The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival is a twice yearly celebration of the great food and drink to be found in and around the city. Now in it’s 8th year, we run a 10 day festival in April of every year, and a month-long festival in September.
In 2010, we attracted an estimated 160,000 to our events throughout the year, including 43,000 alone to the Big Sussex Market in September. This makes the festival the largest of its kind in the south of England.
The festival is an opportunity for growers and producers from across the local area, to showcase their food and drink to consumers, and to meet businesses who are looking for quality local suppliers. Restaurants, bars, pubs, cafés, hotels and food retailers are all invited to host their own events during the festival and these are then promoted within the official festival calendar available online and as a brochure.
The festival is always keen to engage with local communities, and strives to make events as accessible as possible. Our major events - including the Big Sussex Market, Live Food Show and Sussex & The World Market – are all free-to-enter.
The festival is run by a voluntary committee of local business people, all of who share a passion for good food and drink, and a common goal to promote the city of Brighton & Hove and surrounding Sussex.
Uniquely for an event of its size, we are a not-for-profit organisation, and rely on the huge dedication and commitment of the committee members and the many businesses who continuously support our activities and goals.
The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival receives no public sector support and our costs are met by the ongoing support of the local business community, financial sponsors, and the contributions of the festival committee.
If you would like to find out more about the festival, including sponsorship opportunities, please contact Nick Mosley nick@brightonvisitor.com

Local businesses and stallholders wishing to take part in the festival should register their interest via our online forms accessible through the ‘Get Involved’ section of the website.
