The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the south of England, running for 10 days every April and September.

With local producers, growers, restaurants, bars and food retailers firmly at it’s heart, it’s a showcase of the fantastic food, drink and hospitality to be found in the city and surrounding Sussex. Explore our website and tuck in to Brighton & Hove with us!

“As comprehensive a festival as you will find in the UK this summer, this month-long homage to Brighton, Hove and the wider Sussex food scene takes in pretty much every taste-related activity you could think of… For foodies who like to keep it local, the Big Sussex Market, which attracted over 40,000 people last year, is a shopping experience without parallel. Best start saving.” – The Guardian ‘Word of Mouth’, May 2011

SPRING HARVEST 2012 HIGHLIGHTS

Check out the highlights of our Spring Harvest Big Sussex Market & Live Food Show 2012 with our video diary.

From 30 March - 9 April we celebrated our third Spring Harvest food festival, smashing all records for attendance at our epic Big Sussex Market with a clicked footfall of 57,126 over Good Friday and Easter Saturday. Foodies enjoyed great local food and drink from 90 stalls (with 83% of stallholders from Sussex), leading local chefs on the Live Food Show stage – sponsored by Discover the Origin –, plus a Community Food area with 20 local charities and not-for-profit organisations working in the food and eco sectors represented. This year also so the very welcome return of our Children's Food Festival with over 3,000 children taking part in free half hour workshops and food bravery activities.

The festival also hosted a number of sell-out gala dinners including our International Chef Exchange dinner with Drakes and the Beaumont in Maasticht, and the first ever Brighton Fish Festival proved popular (if somewhat wet!).

The Autumn outing of the festival is Friday 7 - Sunday 16 September: more details here soon!
